Beautiful planting schemes, expert installation and ongoing garden care.
The Planting Design Process
At Tilia Planting Design, we create beautiful, sustainable planting schemes tailored to your garden, lifestyle and budget.
As a female-led planting design studio, we specialise in thoughtful planting that provides colour, structure and interest throughout the seasons. Whether you are looking to refresh existing borders, rejuvenate a tired garden or create an entirely new planting scheme, we guide you through every stage of the process.

Consultation
Our planting design consultation is the first step towards creating a beautiful garden tailored to your space, style and lifestyle. During our meeting, we'll discuss your ideas, the type of planting you love, how you use your garden, and the atmosphere you'd like to create. We'll assess site conditions, including soil, aspect, light levels and existing planting, to ensure the scheme will thrive. Following the consultation, you'll receive a tailored planting brief and a quotation for the design services best suited to your garden.

Site Survey
Successful planting begins with understanding the conditions of your garden. During a detailed site assessment, I will evaluate soil, light, aspect, existing planting and the overall character of the space to ensure every plant is selected to thrive in its environment.
Photographs, measurements and site observations help inform the planting design, resulting in a scheme that provides year-round interest, complements your garden and develops beautifully over time.

DESIGN
I will provide a scaled drawing of the proposed layout for your garden showing areas of hard landscaping, planting and features. To help you visualise your new garden, I will provide elevations of certain areas of the garden along with images, photographs, textures and colour palettes of the design.

PLants

A planting plan will be prepared showing the position of each plant, its species and cultivar name as well as the quantity required. A plant schedule detailing the quantity, botanical name and size of plants required will be prepared and sent to a number of high quality specialist nurseries to quote for supplying the plants.
Once the plants have arrived on site I will set them out and arrange planting for you.
